Shift Happens
Sometimes size does matter.
Interesting video, though I'm not sure how accurate the facts are, but I suppose it helps to give a wake-up call about how the world is changing.
Just how are the traditional education systems going to cope with this level of change?
At some point, they will need to embrace e-learning technologies. The question is whether they will embrace them from a position of strength, or if they will be overtaken by events.

This video probably made the rounds but it's the first time I saw it.
It is thought-provoking, especially to those who have a closed view of what education implies.
On the other hand, e-learning might not be the only direction in which the shift may happen.
I saw a presentation from Ian Pearson (Futurologist from BT) yesterday where he predicts that the economy will revert back to a 'care' and 'community' economy because computers/IT will be so much more intelligent.
Just because there is more information out there, it doesn't mean we have to learn it all, in the future we'll probably leave all the data and information crunching down to computers.
I personally think that more emphasis should be placed on learning concepts that can be applied. With an understanding of concepts information can be easier to find and apply where appropriate.
Some of the information is somewhat out of context, and for them to be more convincing and relevant I think I would need more information.
